I just wanted to say that I am very excited to be a part of this event. The people at Habitat are great to work with, and I am proud that Habitat has asked our company to participate in the Builders Blitz for the second time. I am also excited about the other builders who are participating in this event. They are all excellent home builders, and it is fun to see everyone coming together to make six deserving families homeowners. Every builder has demonstrated their superior building skills and have all made the necessary progress needed to make this a reality. I am proud to be working alongside these good men and women.

Today is the fifth day we have been working on our home, and I'm glad to say everything has gone on track without a hitch. This year's project has been unbelievably smooth, and everyone has showed up and co

mpleted their portion of the work on time and on schedule. These wonderful people have donated their time and efforts for this great cause. I'm proud to say that all our material and labor has been donated in kind thanks to the generosity of our vendors and subcontractors. I hope that Habitat will continue to invite Home Creations to participate in the Builders Blitz every time.

Thank you Habitat!

Well, we are almost done.  The wind has really played a major role this year. We are one day behind our own schedule but should be finished by tomorrow evening. Painting this morning and then electric, floor coverings, plumbing and HVAC final.  I want to again thank Trey Clure with Mill Creek Carpets and Ole Masters Painting.

Thanks!

End of day two - all electric, security and geothermal HVAC installed and ready for inspection! A special thanks to Integrity Heat and AC and All American Electric for volunteering their Sunday to make this build possible.

Saturday, May 31

What a great beginning for everyone!  Today was just as I thought it would be - I was able to renew some old friendships and meet new people. Everyone worked hard at the Southcreek Construction site. We finished at 4pm with house wrapped, windows in and roof ready to shingle. Tomorrow shingles, plumbing, HVAC and  electric. I want to thank all of the subs working with use this week - Steve Lake and his great framing and cornish crew, (S and L Woodworks), Innovative Plumbing, Mustang Electric, Comfort Works and Trey with Mill Works. I especially want to thank Keith Bonner, General Manager for Southcreek and Debbie and Al Calyer, also with Southcreek Construction.

Thanks,

Friday, May 30

It’s been almost two years and we are about to begin our second builder blitz. Two years ago I couldn’t write anything, because I was scared to death. What did I think I was doing - a small company such as ours attempting to build a home for a beautiful  family in only ONE WEEK.  Am I crazy?!?!

That first morning I turned the corner to see hundreds of people working together to make a dream come true for several families.  As the week progressed the entire area had an incredible feel of hope and kindness. God really blessed that week.

So, as we start this fantastic journey again I ask for a special blessing on all of us, that we will build these homes with that same hope and kindness as before and God will again really bless this builder blitz.

HERE WE GO AGAIN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks,

Bob Altmiller

The entire team at Ideal Homes is excited to get underway with the 2008 Builders Blitz.  There seems to be an increased level of excitement this year.  Rarely does giving back to the community align so well with our company mission, “Quality affordable homes today and tomorrow.”

For us…the icing on the cake is the fact that this year’s home will be LEED certified.  In 1997, Ideal Homes constructed the first affordable Energy Star certified home in America.  Since that time we’ve seen thousands of families become the lifestyle and financial beneficiaries of owning an energy efficient and environmentally friendly home.  We’re proud to work with an organization in Habitat that recognizes the quality of life a LEED home can bring to its resident and the community at large.

The Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity is a truly remarkable organization.  It’s a great privilege to work with them.

It is Thursday at 7:30 pm and I am feeling a little excited and anxious at the same time.  Spent the day calling all the subcontractors and volunteers double checking that everyone is set to go.  On paper the schedule works, so now it is time to see what reality brings over the next 7 days.  I am so excited to be building this home for such a great family and wonderful cause.  It has been such a blessing to see the excitment in Shareece Johnson; I can't wait to see her and her children's faces when they get to walk into their brand new home...... which is only 8 days away!!   Special thanks again to all my subcontractors that build 4 Corners homes - without your generosity and hard work we would not be able to make this family's dream come true.  Also a special thanks to the ladies (and gentleman) from Tee for the Soul t-shirt shop in Edmond, for printing our t-shirts of "Hope."

Looking forward to Saturday morning at 7:00 am!

Later:  Friday night and everyone on the 4 corners team is ready and excited to get started.  The team at Habitat should all be commended for being extremely organized and timely, you have all been a great help to me getting this project ready to go!  THANKS, and see you bright and early in the morning.

We’re excited to begin work shortly on our 2nd building blitz home. It’s hard to believe that two years have passed since we completed our first Habitat home in June 2006. Next week at this time our home will be complete, and we’ll be preparing for the dedication on Saturday morning.

Thank you, Habitat, for coordinating this worthwhile effort once again. All the planning is about to skyrocket into action. Get ready Hope Crossing!
