Dream Team
They came
together for the first
time on
February 21, 2008 to
discuss their
strategy. As the
game plan for
success was laid out
before them,
the rookies whispered
questions to
the seasoned veterans
who smiled and
answered with the
confidence
that only comes with the
experience of
a previous successful
undertaking of
such a monumental
task.
Normally the
terms “rookie” and “veteran” this time of year
bring to mind the race for the pennant by the
boys of summer, and “team” is all about
“America’s favorite pastime” – baseball.
But in Oklahoma City six metro area builders are
coming together as a team during the first week
of June to race not for a pennant, but for
something much larger. It is a race to
build a dream in only five days as the 2008 Home
Builders Blitz gets underway.
Central
Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity is privileged to
partner with 2006 veteran Blitz Builders
Ideal Homes, Southcreek Construction, and Home
Creations and 2008 newcomers Rausch
Coleman Homes, 4 Corners Construction, and O L
Development. These quality home
builders and Central Oklahoma Habitat will join
more than 100 Habitat affiliates nationwide to
complete some 263 homes simultaneously during
the 2008 Home Builders Blitz, May 31 through
June 7.
