“Our company works with Habitat on a monthly basis providing the framing component for new homes.  We have been blessed with good subcontractors who have remained with us over time.  The Builder’s Blitz is another opportunity to give back to the community in a positive way.”

 - Bob Altmiller, Owner, Southcreek Construction

Southcreek Construction Builder/Owners Bob and Donna Altmiller began their homebuilding career in 1998 as an independent representative for a national log home company.  In 2002, a name change and a new direction were undertaken.  More flexibility in building both log homes and conventionally framed homes has led to increased business for the Edmond-based couple.

Prior to 1998, Bob and Donna both worked in health care - Bob as a pharmacist and Donna as an RN.  Bob's earned his Pharmacy degree from the University of Oklahoma, and Donna graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

The Altmillers decided on a career change when they began remodeling homes in their spare time and Bob assumed responsibility for remodeling nursing homes as well as a large office complex.  "We wanted a business we could work in together and this is the perfect fit," says Bob.  "What was once a hobby we enjoyed together has now become a full time business."

“Our business has been blessed with good subcontractors who have remained with us over the years” he adds.  “My wife works with clients on preliminary floor plan, and I do final elevations on our CAD program.”

As the company grew, the need for marketing, advertising, and promotions increased as well.  In 2003, the Altmillers' daughter Joanna Combs, a graduate of the University of Oklahoma's School of Business with a degree in Marketing and Management, was hired as in-house marketing director.  The family-owned business has grown consistently each year.

“Helping assure my parents’ future in the market has been both exciting and rewarding," Joanna says.  "Their involvement with Habitat has been an inspiration to me.”
