Habichat March 2010 Spring is in the air!Spring construction is in full swing in Hope Crossing and Las Rosas, and Brush with Kindness projects are happening weekly. We’re looking forward to our next Thrivent Builds project with our Lutheran friends and the 2010 El Reno Blitz Build in April! Our 2010 Women Build is also on the horizon, scheduled for June 11 – July 1, so spring will keep us all jumping! Come join the fun! Extreme Dog Houses being auctioned to raise funds for “people houses!” See doggie house designs on display and BUY RAFFLE TICKETS beginning Sunday, March 14 through Sunday, March 21 at Penn Square!Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity, in partnership with the Oklahoma City Kennel Club, will host a raffle for “extreme dog houses” as part of the Extreme Dog House Challenge, in which entrants have created and built unique and imaginative dog houses to donate to Central Oklahoma Habitat’s affordable housing cause. These special canine houses will be on display from Noon on Sunday, March 14 through Sunday, March 21 at Penn Square Mall in Oklahoma City. Seven different extreme dog houses will be raffled off through the sale of tickets during the display period. Individuals can purchase raffle tickets at a price of one for $5 or five for $20. The drawing for the winners of the dog houses will take place on Sunday, March 21 at noon at the mall. All proceeds raised from the sale of raffle tickets will help Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity build a home for a limited income family in need. Among other unique designs, the dog houses include a Japanese-influenced modern dog house built with recycled materials, a stucco home with southwestern style decorations, a castle with turrets and a pink princess palace built for a miniature/toy dog! Come see all the fun entries, including Best in Show and Most Creative! You may never see dog houses like these again!! May at NW 38th Street on Monday, April 26, at 6:30 pm. Then, you’ll be ready to volunteer in this year’s Women Build!
