Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity plans to continue support of long-term rebuilding efforts that will benefit families affected by the May tornadoes for those who are uninsured or underinsured.
It is estimated that about 400 families throughout the state may be eligible for their assistance through Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity rebuilding or Critical Home Repair programs.
Habitat provides safe, energy efficient, affordable housing sold at cost and without interest to families that undergo an application process and are willing to meet certain requirements, such as volunteering at least 300 hours of “sweat equity.” Special arrangements such as the reduction of required volunteer hours may be available for qualified applicants who have also been affected by the tornados.
