A Brush with Kindness

A Brush with Kindness seeks to help low-income homeowners restore their homes so they can continue to live in a safe, healthy, decent and affordable home while bringing volunteers together to live out their values by helping a homeowner in need.

Repairs include but are not limited to weatherization, painting, landscaping, grab bars, ramps, and other minor repairs. We select homes for Brush with Kindness partnership based on greatest need and on the ability of our volunteers and other resources to complete the work. We are currently seeking projects as well as volunteers who would like to help give a little back to their community.

Criteria

Interested homeowners must meet the following criteria:

~ Be the owner of record for your home (proof will be required)
~ Contribute 30 hours of “sweat equity” volunteering with Habitat prior to work on your home
~ A current copy of your OG&E electric bill must be provided to receive additional weatherization repairs
~ Household income must fall within 60% of the area median income according to HUD (Homeowner will be asked to document income)
