OKC Home & Garden Show

Using inventory from Habitat for Humanity’s Renovation Station, interior doors and cabinet doors will be painted, displayed at the show and sold in a silent auction taking place throughout the weekend, with all proceeds benefitting Central Oklahoma Habitat.
Organizers envision the doors being used as doors, room dividers or artwork for the wall.
“The project symbolizes how Central Oklahoma Habitat opens doors to a brighter future for its partner families,” We are thrilled to have been chosen to partner with the Home & Garden Show this year,” said Ann Felton Gilliland, chairman and CEO of Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity. “The public will have the opportunity to purchase a lovely piece of artwork for their home – or a conversation piece created by their favorite sports team – while helping open doors for families in our community. This is a great opportunity to reach out to the community and make them aware of our efforts and ways they can become involved.”
Artists including Bob Palmer, Oklahoma muralist, and local celebrities including the NBA Thunder, OU, and OSU sports teams have decorated doors.
Each year, the Oklahoma City Home & Garden Show partners with a local organization to raise money in a silent auction. This year they selected Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity as the 2010 show’s charity of choice, calling the fundraiser “Doors to a Brighter Future.”
Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity will be pre-selling tickets to the show for $7 at both Renovation Station stores, located at 1800 N. Broadway and 2805 S.W. 29th St. (SW 29 & May), with a portion of the cost benefitting Habitat. During the Home & Garden Show, Habitat volunteers will also be handing out discount coupons to that can be redeemed at the Renovation Stations at their booth to Home & Garden Show attendees.
