Women Build 2009
Women Build is a Habitat for Humanity International program that encourages women to make a difference by building homes and communities. Women Builds provide an environment in which women can feel comfortable learning construction skills they might not otherwise have the opportunity to learn.
On October 23, women volunteers are kicking off Central Oklahoma Habitat’s 2009 Women Build – its 8th such undertaking – and we will continue on for three weeks until this beautiful new home is completed and dedicated on Saturday, November 14, in time for Crystal O. and her family to celebrate their first Thanksgiving in a home of their very own!
Crystal and her two young sons, 4-year-old Garrett and 9-month-old Preston, are very excited about having a safe and permanent family home, and particularly about getting to help build it! Crystal works as an Advisor Assistant for a financial company and hopes to one day work her way to becoming a partner!
Many thanks to all of the outstanding women volunteers and organizations helping this family achieve greater health and safety, security, and stability in their lives.
