June 15 through July 10, 2007

Central Oklahoma Habitat's fifth Women Build house is going up over three weeks, built by women from Home Interiors & Gifts and the Central Oklahoma Home Builders Women's Council!

Habitat for Humanity International's Women Build program actively engages women to build homes to address the issue of affordable housing.

This project is being sponsored through

a $50,000 grant from Home Interiors

Charitable Foundation, and Home

Interiors & Gifts decorating consultants are volunteering on site to help build the home.  Usually focused on the inside of homes, they are excited about this opportunity to build an entire home for a family in need.

Oklahoma First Lady Kim Henry is serving as honorary chair for this exciting project!  Mrs. Henry has been an avid supporter of Habitat projects, wholeheartedly swinging her hammer alongside dozens of other Habitat volunteers.

Central Oklahoma Home Builders Women's Council volunteers are also helping to build the home and are providing refreshments and lunches for all volunteers on site.  Long-time supporters of Central Oklahoma Habitat, the Women’s Council has provided mailboxes and house numbers for and been involved in the dedication of every home the mission has completed since 1990.

Many thanks to all our partners on this exciting project!  Together we are giving the opportunity for a better life in a home of their own to another hard working limited income family - a gift of time and caring concern that will last lifetimes!

Thank you!                                Photo Album
