New Homeowner Encourages Others to Apply for Habitat for Humanity Homeownership
New Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity (COHFH) Homeowner El Cruz L. recently celebrated a life-changing event during the dedication of his new Habitat house in southwest Oklahoma City. And his excitement was evident as he performed a happy dance step after receiving gift certificates, presents and the keys to his new home on May 23, 2024.
El Cruz also expressed his gratitude to COHFH, community members and his family, including sharing with attendees his heartfelt thanks to his mother, Victoria. He acknowledged her pivotal role in helping him fulfill many of his sweat-equity hours while he attended classes at Metro Tech.
A self-described comedian, actor, civil rights activist, constitutionalist and director of film and music videos, El Cruz actively recommends COHFH’s New Home Construction program to friends. He said he has already distributed three applications, urging others not to delay.
“Don’t put it on the back burner; if you need something done, do it now!” El Cruz L. said.
As a Christian-housing ministry, COHFH believes everyone deserves a safe, secure and decent place to live. Volunteers are welcome to help build or repair homes, contribute gently new or used goods to COHFH ReStores or to make donations.
