New Homeowners Kimberly and Jay celebrate the dedication of their new home on Jan. 4, 2023
A family of six recently celebrated the dedication of their new home on Jan. 4, 2023, complete with Fox 25’s, the OKC Dodger’s and Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity’s (COHFH) leaders.
For the past four years, Fox 25 employee volunteers have helped build homes with COHFH staff for families with limited incomes in the greater Oklahoma City area.
New Habitat homeowners Jay and Kimberly’s home dedication featured Fox 25 Vice President/General Manager Diana Wilkin and OKC Dodgers President/General Manager Michael Byrnes, who both presented COHFH Board Chair/CEO Ann Felton Gilliland with a check for $2,001 benefiting our Christian-housing ministry. The donation was the result of the “Fox Monarch at the Ballpark” raffle, a cross-promotional event sponsored by Fox 25 and the OKC Dodgers.
Married for 21 years, Jay and Kimberly have three children and an adult daughter, Sierra, 18. Sierra even helped her parents by donating to their sweat equity homebuilding commitment to COHFH. The couple’s youngest children include a daughter with special needs and all three small children are homeschooled by Kimberly, while Jay works at Hobby Lobby.
“We are looking forward to being able to feel settled and let our children have that settled feeling,” Kimberly said. “It will also give us a place to help our children to discover their passions and what they want to do in the future.”
