Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity recently sponsored booths at several community events to share information about its programs, encourage volunteer involvement and connect with families across the Oklahoma City metro area.

Family Services Executive Administrator Lily Dwyer and Executive Administrative Assistant Jasmine Wallace staffed Habitat’s booth at the 2026 Women of Color Expo Oklahoma, held this spring at Metro Tech Springlake Campus in Oklahoma City.

The two distributed candy and brochures, encouraged attendees to enter a drawing for a drawstring backpack and a 39-piece household tool kit, and answered questions about Habitat’s homeownership, volunteer, and community programs.

In March, Dwyer also gave a presentation in Spanish about Habitat’s programs at the Capitol Hill Library as part of El Latino American Newspaper’s community outreach efforts in Oklahoma City.

In honor of Mother’s Day, Dwyer was joined by Grant Specialist Layne Cates and Volunteer Coordinator Joely Dixson on May 9, when Habitat sponsored a booth at Embassy Suites by Hilton Norman for El Latino American Newspaper’s Mother’s Day Celebration & Expo 2026.

The Habitat team distributed candy, Spanish- and English-language brochures and information about homeownership and volunteer opportunities. They also held a raffle and visited with attendees during the festive event, which highlighted family, community, mothers and professional achievement.

Wallace and Dwyer will collaborate once again to staff a booth at the Praise Beyond the Walls 2026 free community fair on June 1 at Bethlehem Star Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Praise Beyond the Walls is a weeklong, family-oriented event designed to bring the community together for worship, fun, and resources.
