New Habitat Homeowner Adrieanna R. and her son, Noel, will celebrate a home dedication by Central Oklahoma Habitat at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Cornerstone Creek.

Adrieanna R., a longtime dental assistant, and her 9-year-old son, Noel, will celebrate the dedication of their new Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity home at 2 p.m. tomorrow (March 20, 2025). The event will be held at Cornerstone Creek, Central Oklahoma Habitat’s largest affordable housing development in far northwest Oklahoma City.

As a single mother, Adrieanna sought a permanent home to provide Noel with “his own space and yard to play in and grow up in a great neighborhood.” She credits the Habitat program for teaching her valuable skills through her “sweat equity” hours and connecting her with a supportive community.

“Having our own home will allow me to mold and shape Noel into a more responsible young man with things like mowing, trash duties and helping a neighbor,” Adrieanna stated. “We are very family-oriented and look forward to hosting holidays together as a family.”

The proud mom states that her son loves sports and participates in soccer and wrestling. The pair also attend a local church, where she volunteers to work with the first- to third-grade children. Adrieanna said Central Oklahoma Habitat also taught her new repair skills while she fulfilled her “sweat equity” volunteer hours.

“This program is so amazing!” she stated. “I have met lots of great people who have shared their own stories, and they’ve (Habitat) taught me how to repair things that I can use in the future. They (Habitat) have supported my journey; everyone is nice and helpful.

“I look forward to continue helping others build their dreams – none of this would be possible without God.”

Central Oklahoma Habitat Chair/CEO Ann Felton Gilliland said that Adrieanna’s new home dedication marks the 1,124th home built by the nonprofit since 1990.

“Cornerstone Creek is becoming a thriving neighborhood of families who have invested in its promise,” said Felton Gilliland. “The site will eventually feature 450 affordable homes, three parks, workout stations and a gazebo. Nearby Piedmont schools also provide excellent educational opportunities for neighborhood schoolchildren.”
