Dual Habitat for Humanity Home Dedications Set for 2 p.m. Today, Sept. 3, in Cornerstone Creek

OKLAHOMA CITY—Two young men whose paths to homeownership began in very different places will become neighbors tomorrow when they celebrate the dedications of their new Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity (COHFH) homes.

The dual home dedication will begin at 2 p.m. today, Sept. 3, 2026, in Cornerstone Creek, Oklahoma City.

A Ponca City native, Kaleb C., 28, grew up in a variety of housing situations. He later earned a business degree in hospitality and tourism management from Oklahoma State University.

Today, Kaleb works as community director for Weidner Apartment Homes, helping apartment residents with their housing needs. In his New Home Construction program application, he wrote that he began volunteering with Habitat to give back to the community, reflecting his employer’s core value of “building community one person at a time.”

“Encouraging and helping even just one person through a critical need can and will change the future of our community as a whole,” Kaleb said. “Homeownership seemed so far out of reach with rising housing costs and limited savings due to renting, but Habitat for Humanity took all my doubts and turned them into unwavering faith by making homeownership possible through affordable payments and strong support.”

Kaleb said he is grateful for the friendships he formed with volunteers and Habitat employees and for the opportunity to become a homeowner. “This home will give me stability, the ability to plan for the future and a place to build a family,” he said.

Kaleb will share today’s celebration with his new neighbor across the street, Caedmon “Cade” M., who moved to Oklahoma from Colorado Springs, Colorado, to participate in the Hope Is Alive recovery-home program.

Cade, 23, now works as an IT engineer providing managed IT services for TekMyBiz. He is engaged to his fiancée, Madeline T.

In his New Home Construction program application, Cade wrote that he entered the Hope Is Alive program to regain his sobriety and establish long-term stability. Several current and former Hope Is Alive employees who now live in Cornerstone Creek referred him to Habitat.

“They believed this would be a great opportunity for me to continue moving forward in a positive direction,” Cade said. “I will be getting married in about a year, and my goal is to begin building a family shortly after. Having a safe, stable and affordable home would provide the foundation needed to support my continued recovery, my marriage and the family we hope to start.”

Cade said purchasing a Habitat home is “an incredible opportunity to invest in our future and establish long-term security.”

COHFH Chair/CEO Ann Felton Gilliland said both homeowners completed Habitat’s homeownership requirements, including homeowner education and 100 sweat-equity hours, before purchasing their homes.

“We are excited to welcome Kaleb and Cade to our Habitat community in Cornerstone Creek,” Felton Gilliland said. “Their homes are the 1,175th and 1,176th houses built by COHFH since 1990. These beautiful, energy-efficient homes will provide stability and affordability as Kaleb and Cade continue to help build a strong community in Cornerstone Creek.”
