New Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity Board Member Hunter Merritt poses with a new Habitat homeowner, Adrieanna R., and COHFH Chair/CEO Ann Felton Gilliland during a recent home dedication at Cornerstone Creek in Oklahoma City.

Merritt is the principle and managing broker at Gain Mortgage Group and serves as a Realtor for Metro Mark Real Estate. He said he’s excited to join the Habitat board.
“I am incredibly honored that the wonderful people at Habitat have asked me to join their board of directors,” Merritt said. “This is an answered prayer to have the opportunity to work with such a great organization. I look forward to making an impact with Habitat and with the people they serve.”
Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity Chair/CEO Ann Felton Gilliland said Merritt’s appointment to the board’s leadership team is a natural choice.
“Hunter is exceptionally qualified to serve Habitat because of his experience in residential and commercial real estate, as well as his long tenure as a mortgage loan originator,” Felton Gilliland said. “He has also demonstrated a passion for helping improve the lives of families with limited to moderate incomes. I believe Hunter will make an outstanding Habitat board member, and he’s ready to help us reach the next level of service.”
Merritt is a graduate of Casady Schools in Oklahoma City, earned his undergraduate degree from Southern Methodist University in Texas and a master’s in business from Oklahoma City University’s Meinders School of Business. He is a member of the Oklahoma City Rotary Club 29 and a mentor with Positive Tomorrow. Hunter is married to Peri Merritt, and they are the proud parents of three boys: Sonny, Marshall, and Royce.
