Insurance Professional Grateful for New Habitat Home

After life took her from Guam to Washington state and then Oklahoma, insurance professional Jaden C. celebrated another milestone: purchasing a home of her own.

On Jan. 30, 2025, Jaden joined Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity (COHFH) staff and community members for the dedication of her new home at Cornerstone Creek in far northwest Oklahoma City.

In her Habitat homebuyer program application, Jaden shared that she experienced several transitions early in life and additional challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I was adopted when I was 2 and grew up on the beautiful island of Guam before moving to Washington state at age 18 to pursue better educational and career opportunities,” Jaden wrote. “However, the outbreak of COVID-19 brought unexpected challenges that led to me losing two jobs and stopping my schooling. In response, I decided to move to Oklahoma to be closer to my birth family.”

During the dedication, Jaden expressed her appreciation for her new, energy-efficient and affordable home.

“I’m grateful to everyone here,” she said. “We’re very grateful. Thanks so much!”

Jaden’s house marked the 1,119th home built by Central Oklahoma Habitat since 1990.
