Canadian County Mom of Two Buys ‘Forever’ Home

State of Oklahoma Financial Analyst Tyisha A. has wanted to buy a new home since her children were toddlers. As the years passed, she discovered the math didn’t add up until she partnered with Central Oklahoma Habitat. “Owning a home is a desire that we all equally share within our household.”

Tyisha stated in her Habitat application. “My goal was to give my children a forever home. No matter how old they are and where life takes them, there will always be a road that leads back home.”

Tyisha and her children, Taniya, 20, a Redlands Community College student, and Antoine, 17, a Mustang High student, celebrated their home dedication on Dec. 12, 2024.

“Though my children are older now, being a homeowner someday has always been the topic of discussion when we spend time together,” she stated. “I’m looking forward to living in a Habitat neighborhood with those who share similarities and the desire to provide a safe and affordable place to call home sweet home.”
