‘Country-Loving Grandmother’ Happy She Now Has Room for Family
Amanda H., described by her daughters as a “country-loving Christian” mom and grandmother, celebrated her new home dedication on Dec. 5, 2024, at Cornerstone Creek.
Amanda’s joy was evident when she received her keys from Habitat Chair/CEO Ann Felton Gilliland. A travel coordinator for the Oklahoma Department of Health, Amanda’s smile brightened further when Diamond W., the first Cornerstone Creek homeowner, warmly embraced her. Buying a home was a significant accomplishment for Amanda, but she didn’t stop there. She also recently passed another considerable milestone by earning an associate’s degree. “I’m the first in my family,” she said, “and I graduated with honors.”
Today, Amanda recommends Habitat homes for their comfort and community. Her new house also has plenty of room for visitors.
“Owning my own home also helps me to provide a loving place for my daughters and granddaughter to stay for extended periods while in Oklahoma,” Amanda said. “And I can spend more time outside, walking around the neighborhood or gardening.”
