Homeowner #1077 – Abraham V. and Esmeralda G. are the young parents of two sons and a daughter. In their application to participate in Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity’s (COHFH) New Home Construction program, they stated that they’d decided early on in their lives together to spend lots of time with their children exploring new places – to make family time a priority.

One of their other top goals was to buy a home, but medical needs and a car repair ate into their down-payment funds to purchase a new home. The couple was overjoyed to learn they’d been accepted into the COHFH program.

“We are excited and grateful to experience this journey with COHFH and our family,” Esmeralda G. stated. “We want to work with our community and help other families who also have a dream of a place to call home.”

Both Abraham V. and Esmeralda G. expressed their gratitude to COHFH during their home dedication celebration on April 19, 2023, in southwest Oklahoma City. Abraham V. said he and his wife loved working their sweat-equity hours volunteering on their own future home and others’ New Home Construction projects.

“We loved it and had a lot of fun,” Abraham V. said. “We’d go back and do our hours again  – we want to help new homeowners.”
