Homeowner #1078 – Happy tears shed by Cecilia T. were wiped away after COHFH Chair/CEO Ann Felton Gilliland handed her the keys to her new home. She then thanked COHFH and the attendees for helping her celebrate.

“Thank God and you for blessing me and my son with this opportunity to have a beautiful home, a better life and a safe future,” Cecilia T. said. “There is always hope and despite earlier financial challenges, you can continue to work and move forward, plus share the blessings and help others.”

In addition to Cecilia T., her friends and family, various COHFH staff members joined a group of business, religious and civic volunteers who also commemorated the home dedication with gifts and prayers. They included: COHFH ReStore’s Dolores Flores, Edmond Board of Realtors’ Lynne Berry, Supermercados Morelos’ Carla Brown, All Soul’s Episcopal Church’s Sally Westfall and other church members, St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church Deacon John Teague and COHFH Board of Directors Member Daniel Houston.

Many Malarkey Roofing employees also attended, including Vice President of Manufacturing Jay Kreft. He said that in December 2022, Malarkey Roofing employee volunteers hosted the 400th home construction team and framed the interior walls of a home with the COHFH. The work was performed inside due to poor weather.

“Beyond the roofing materials themselves, members of our team are also active volunteers with the organization,” Kreft said. “We’re proud to work with COHFH and to help make the dreams of homeownership come true for local families in the community we share.”
