Homeowner #1079 – As a working mother with a son attending a nearby college, Rakeesha G.Z., was delighted on May 24, 2023, when she and her family celebrated the home dedication of her new Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity (COHFH) home in northwest Oklahoma City.

COHFH Chair/CEO Ann Felton Gilliland and a group community leaders ensured that Rakeesha G.Z. and her family received numerous items beneficial to new homeowners, including a new bible, welcome mat, gift certificates and plenty of blessings during the home dedication. Rakeesha G.Z. said being a part of COHFH’s New Home Construction program means she’s now part of the Habitat family.

“This home means so much to me and my family,” Rakeesha G.Z. said. “It was built for our future and is a secure place where children can always come to and call home. They (COHFH) are doing this at cost and to help those who are raising families to make sure we have a good, sturdy home built to last.

“Habitat is here for everyone, and they love us. I love being part of this family!”
