Homeowner #1094 – Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity (COHFH) homeowner Michelle E. is a working mother and licensed practical nurse who works with U.S. veterans. She celebrated her home dedication with Habitat staff, family and community members on April 18, 2024, in Spencer, Oklahoma.

During the event, Michelle received gifts from the community, including a welcome mat from Jeff Stokes of the Edmond Board of REALTORS, a $50 COHFH ReStores gift certificate, a Supermercados Morelos gift certificate and an inscribed Bible. Deacon John Teague of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church offered a house blessing and benediction.

After accepting the keys to her new home and a hug from COHFH Chair/CEO Ann Felton Gilliland, Michelle thanked attendees for the gifts. She also thanked Gateway Mortgage loan originator Alba Santiago and everyone who helped her throughout the New Home Construction program.

“Thanks to all you guys who have worked with us and taught us,” Michelle said. “I’m happy to be here. I prayed to God, and I said, ‘If it is for me, I know you’ll make it,’ and I thank all of you.”
