Michelle E.

Homeowner #1094 – Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity’s (COHFH) new homeowner, Michelle E., is a working mom and a licensed practical nurse that works with U.S. veterans. She celebrated her new home dedication with Habitat staff and some family and community members on April 18, 2024, in Spencer, Oklahoma.

During the event, Michelle E. received numerous gifts from the community, including a welcome mat from the Edmond Board of Realtors’ Jeff Stokes, a $50 gift certificate for Habitat’s ReStores, a Supermercados Morelos gift certificate, an inscribed bible and a house blessing and benediction by Deacon John Teague of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church.

After accepting the keys to her new home and a hug from COHFH Chair/CEO Ann Felton Gilliand, Michelle E. thanked attendees for the gifts, Gateway Mortgage Loan Originator Alba Santiago and “everyone who has helped her on her journey” while she went through the New Home Construction program process.

“Thanks to all you guys who have worked with us and taught us,” Michelle E. said. “I’m happy to be here. I prayed to God, and I said, ‘if it is for me, I know you’ll make it,’ and I thank all of you.”
