New Habitat Homeowner Worked on her Goals 

Brittany W. has a friend who has a Habitat home, but it didn’t hit her until more than a year ago that she might apply to own her own affordable home.
“A couple of years later, it clicked in me that maybe I should apply,” Brittany said. “I have worked for years on my credit, so I applied, and they got back to me – we’ve been working on this for a while – so I got approved, and I’m so excited!”
Brittany stated in her New Home Construction program application that as a foster parent, she wants to provide more love, care and stability for the children she cares for. She also wanted a safe, secure home with room to grow.
“Protection is essential, and I believe is the biggest difference this home could make,” Brittany stated.
The young American Fidelity employee said she fulfilled her 100 hours of sweat-equity volunteer work with the help of her best friend.
“It was hard, but it was worth it,” Brittany said. “When we left, I felt like I’d helped someone, so that was the best part.”
