Alan & Thaysarye N.
Young Family Pleased to Grow Along with Habitat’s Cornerstone Creek
Alan N. and his wife, Thaysarye N., are a busy young couple raising their little boy, Liam, age 2, but took time out to celebrate with Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity staff, local clergy and community members on Nov. 17, 2024, at their affordable new home at Cornerstone Creek in Oklahoma City.
Originally from Vietnam, Alan said he met Thaysarye while attending Oklahoma City Community College. The couple also worked at Teapioca Lounge, part of a boba tea franchise out of Texas, and married in 2019. Today, Alan works as a manager at one of the local bubble tea locations.
Alan wrote in the application submitted to Habitat’s New Home Construction program that he and Thaysarye chose to apply with Habitat because they wanted to live in a safe neighborhood. He said fulfilling the 100 sweat-equity hours mandated by Habitat was fun and that he’s enjoyed meeting other volunteers and staff.
During the celebration, Thaysarye said she appreciated Habitat’s friendly staff and her new house.“Thank you to the volunteers and everyone who has worked on our home,” Thaysarye said. “Thanks for being patient with us about our child and work. Thank you for our beautiful home.”
