Each month, Taylor S. and Amber W.S. faced the same difficult calculation: cover their rent and daily expenses, then see how little remained for Amber’s education and their son’s future.

In their Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity’s New Home Construction program application, Taylor explained how financial pressure affected the family, including their son, who was nearly 4.

“We are juggling between managing daily expenses and ensuring that we can afford to pay our rent each month,” Taylor wrote. “The constant pressure of meeting these high costs leaves us with little room to invest in other areas, such as my partner’s education and saving for our child’s future. A Habitat home would provide us with the financial relief we desperately need.”

On Aug. 28, 2025, Taylor and Amber celebrated their new home during a dual dedication with fellow homeowner Brett M. at Cornerstone Creek.

After receiving the keys, Taylor expressed the couple’s gratitude for the opportunity to purchase their new home and begin planning beyond the next rent payment.

“This home gives us the financial relief we desperately need,” Taylor said.
