Designer Creates a Home of Her Own—and a Place for Mom

Tania A., an interior designer at Floor & Decor, has spent several years helping customers design their home interiors. On Dec. 19, 2025, she became a Habitat homeowner and began designing a home of her own.

In her Habitat New Home Construction application, Tania wrote that she wanted to buy a home where she and her mother could share a safe, stable environment.

“I wanted to give my mother the safety, stability and love she has always given me,” Tania said. “All my life, she has worked tirelessly as a single mother to protect me and give me every opportunity she could. It’s my turn to take care of her, honor her sacrifices and give her a place where she can rest and find peace.”

Tania considers their new Habitat home the “foundation for a new chapter for us” — one filled with hope.

“Being part of the Habitat program fills me with gratitude, and helping others in the program inspires me even more,” she said.

After years of helping customers envision their ideal spaces, Tania can now create a safe and peaceful home for herself and her mother.
