Mother of Three Buys New Habitat Home for her ‘Amazing Children’

Timbers Skilled Nursing & Therapy Staffing Coordinator Antwanette O. and her family celebrated her new Central Oklahoma Habitat home dedication in Cornerstone Creek on Dec. 6, 2024.

Antwanette is a single mother with three children: Stephen, age 10, A’Mariana, age 5, and Love, age 3. When Antwanette applied to buy a Habitat home, she stated that her children were frustrated by the small place where they lived in Spencer, Oklahoma.

“I have outgrown the house where I live now, and I’m ready to become a homeowner,” Antwanette stated. “I have three amazing children who mean the world to me, and I’m dedicated to giving them better opportunities than I had growing up.”

When Antwanette accepted her keys from Habitat Chair/ CEO Ann Felton Gilliland, she wiped away tears for a few moments before the crowd reassured her, eventually making her laugh. “I’m going to add construction to my resume!” Antwanette said.

She later thanked friends and family for helping her fulfill her sweat equity volunteer hours.
