Mother’s Dream Becomes Reality with Habitat

You’ll have to forgive Habitat homeowner Angelica B. if wiping the smile off her face takes a while. She and her two sons recently celebrated her new home dedication with Central Oklahoma Habitat, community members and local clergy at her new home in Spencer, Oklahoma.

When asked what she liked best about her new home, the divorced single mother and title clerk for an auto group smiled and held up her new house keys, “It’s lovely and mine now!” she said. “It’s a blessing!”

Angelica wrote in her Habitat homebuyer program application that she has always worked hard to give her family the best she could, but she sometimes struggled independently. Like many Americans, she never gave up on her dream of homeownership. She also wrote that she believed becoming a homeowner would help provide more stability for her family.

“My dream was always to own a home,” Angelica stated. “Thanks to God and Habitat for Humanity, now that dream is becoming a reality.”
