Single Mom Achieves Dream of Homeownership with Habitat

With three beautiful children attending Santa Fe South charter schools and working as a Health Alliance for the Uninsured referral coordinator, Dania H. is one busy lady. Despite being a single, hard-working mom, Dania has always dreamed of providing her family a new home in a great neighborhood. Dania’s dream came true when she and her children celebrated their new Habitat house dedication at Cornerstone Creek on Jan. 23, 2025.

When Dania applied to Habitat’s New Home Construction program, she wrote that she wanted her children to “feel safe” in their new home. “I’ve been renting for almost four years,” Dania stated. “Owning a home means having a safe space for me and my loved ones. We are a very united and large family that always supports each other and is very happy.”

She stated that owning a Habitat home means her family will be more stable, secure and have a higher quality of life.

“Thank you very much for this opportunity that you have given me and my family,” Dania stated. The McLaughlin Family Foundation sponsored Dania’s home build.
