Shopping ReStore for Holiday Gifts
‘Tis the season for gatherings, gifting, and good tidings! Holiday parties fill the month and extend from office parties, Christmas celebrations, and more with New Year’s parties right at the tail end of it all. Add all those up and the list of gifts can get very long, very fast, and even expensive. Here’s where Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore can help! New items are collected each week and then processed for resell in our stores. With the inventory changing constantly, we promise there are plenty of gems waiting to be plucked for thoughtful gifting.
Worried that you will have to comprise quality by shopping thrifty? The COHFH ReStores take great care to ensure all items are in good condition, electrical items are in working order, and pieces are free from stains and heavy damages. Rest assured, your biggest regret will be that you didn’t begin gifting by shopping the ReStores years ago.
Below are some treasured ideas to round out your shopping list this year, and remember: the key to buying thrifty and gifting discount is to know your audience. The better you know your target’s interests, the more likely you’ll find a gift that suits them.
Hostess Gifts. If you are looking for gifts for your favorite party planner, or need a quick hostess gift for your next soirée, this is the perfect place! Check out the glassware, the party platters, and pitchers. Bake some cookies or candy and deliver something special to your hostess. Occasionally, there are dish sets still in the box. Cake stands are another huge hit–you could present this to someone with a homemade cake or a special cake recipe. And remember, cake stands are not just for cakes. They make excellent jewelry holders and an attractive place to keep hand soaps.
Picture Frames and Art. Photo frames make excellent gifts for parents and grandparents, especially if you include a cute photo of a grandparent with a grandbaby. You can also find some interesting artwork pieces at the COHFH ReStores, or better yet, find the items needed to create your own masterpiece.
Accent Furniture. Coffee tables, accent chairs, unique end tables, and more! Some pieces are ready to gift as-is, or you could dive into Pinterest and search out some DIY ideas to add a truly personal touch. Looking to add new playroom furniture to your child’s room? Small dining sets work great as craft tables where crayons, tea parties, and paint can run amuck without fear of damaging a family heirloom.
Household Electronics. Microwaves, blenders, and refrigerators arrive weekly and are available at incredibly discounted rates. Already have a fridge? How about an additional one in the garage for extra storage to stock extra water and sodas for those hot summer months? What family wouldn’t love that added convenience!
