Two hardworking Oklahoma women — Shy Adamson and Hollie Campbell — turned the keys to their new, energy-efficient and affordable homes this week at Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity’s (COHFH) Cornerstone Creek community in northwest Oklahoma City.

Both homeowners said the experience represents years of determination, faith and perseverance. Shy, a mother who long dreamed of owning a home, said she grew up watching Habitat stories on television and always hoped to one day be part of one herself. Hollie, also a single mother, worked tirelessly to earn her degree and advance her career, building a stable future for her young daughter.

“Moments like these remind us what our community can achieve together — keys in hand, hope renewed and futures taking shape,” said Ann Felton Gillilland, chair/CEO, Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity.

Through COHFH’s New Home Construction Program, qualified families partner with Habitat to help build their own and others’ homes, purchase them at cost and without a down payment, and gain the strength, stability and independence that come with homeownership.

Telemundo featured the dedication ceremony, sharing the joy and gratitude of the two new homeowners and their families.
