Become a Habitat Homeowner

Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity builds homes in partnership with qualifying families and our community. We then sell these homes at no profit to hard-working families. Our homes are attractive, well-built and extremely energy efficient, with new home prices averaging about $165,000.

Step 2: Partner Up

What do you have to do besides make payments? Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity requires a commitment from the homebuyer to become a partner and work alongside volunteers. Are you willing and able to do the following:

Step 3: Understand The Selection Process

Once your application has been submitted and approved, it takes up to a year to move into your new Central Oklahoma Habitat home. Here is the process we follow:

Step 4: Go To Class

Once you’ve been approved for our program, you will get all the information you need about owning your own home. Click on one of the links below to schedule your class. They are offered at the following locations:

The future homeowner applicant and co-applicant must attend these classes in person and notify our Family Services staff when you plan on attending each class.

We work in partnership with families, in the spirit of the Christian principles that guide our work, to build strong communities. Our home ownership program offers people like you — postal workers, teachers, retail workers, restaurant service workers and others – the opportunity to live in and invest in their community.

Hard working adults who earn between $45,000 – $90,850 per year, depending on the size of your family, you may qualify for a Habitat home. The Average monthly mortgage payment on a Habitat home is $1,200.

Homeownership Benefits

Put down roots and become part of the community with fixed mortgage principal payments that will help stabilize your budget. With a Habitat home there is no down payment.
